Good luck in L.A.

I am just writing to send a farewell to Angelina Wrona, who took off from Merrickville, Ontario, Canada to Los Angeles, California, USA today (? latest tomorrow)

TO PRESENT HER ARTWORK

IN TWO GALLERIES

IN L.A..

Wow, that is so cool. I hope you're wearing the blues brothers' shades, have the windows of your rental car zipped down and some Sheryl Crow cranked, having some fun!!!

Here, I found that on yahoo Canada Jan 12 07 - that is about as much as I connect to L.A., except maybe for my (highlight-of-my-career) interview with Billy Bob Thornton and the chitter-chatter of all of the waiting Montreal entertainment journalists, evolving with a speed of bacterial growth) and all the really amazing movies that have been published lately (blood diamonds? tough to stand, but that seems immanent in the yin and yang of truth - watch with friends and discuss after).

They will just adore you there, Angie.

We all can't wait to get you back and hope deep inside of us that we won't. But on the other hand, in these times of modern means of communication, you can probably manage the coming rush on your paintings from your convenient home office.

Then again: the brilliant and the beautiful - who wouldn't join in a stroll on that sidewalk? Off ye go, you bet!

Maybe there's even hope for that car-infested concrete-chaos in the otherwise absolutely beautiful California to make a change. But only if the brilliant get on it and the beautiful are in the tv-campaigns to rehypnotise the population.

Good luck!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hollywood environmentalists are throwing the first "green" Golden Globes awards bash for celebrities next week, complete with organic food, recycled paper decorations and tables made of reclaimed wood.

The Environmental Media Association (EMA) and entertainment network E! will host the January 15 "Golden Green" party in Beverly Hills to mark the annual movie and television awards ceremony.

Actresses Maggie Gyllenhaal, Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Weisz and socialite Paris Hilton are among the celebrities scheduled to attend the event in a former department store set to become an eco-friendly apartment building.

"Green living has become a way of life for many of today's celebrities," said Debbie Levin, EMA president. "We are proud to be the first ones to step up and create a party that unites talent and social responsibility."

The party will be set in a landscape of plants and flowers in a bid to promote awareness of green issues, and the group TreePeople will plant one tree for every attendee.

It is one of dozens of parties planned by movie studios and television networks to celebrate the Golden Globe awards. The prizes are handed out annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and seen as indicators of likely Oscar winners next month.

The EMA, created in 1989, aims to tap the power of the entertainment industry to educate people about environmental issues.
